It's Almost Time!

We are exactly one week away from being "Boston Bound"! So many thoughts are running through my head, and so many emotions are embedded in my heart. Our precious daughter, our beloved child, is about to face the battle of her life. We knew this moment was coming from the first time we laid eyes on her, but now it's a reality. The time has come. And we are ready. We are full of hope!

We are so grateful to have the opportunity to travel to the best place for Presley's heart. We know that God has ordained it, and He has orchestrated all of the details. We are thankful for each doctor, surgeon, nurse, and care taker who will walk this journey with us and our girl. Ultimately, we are humbled beyond measure to know that our heavenly Father chose us to be Presley's family, to be right by her side,
loving her and cheering her on.

So, as we make final preparations this upcoming week, we will soak in the moments and cherish each day we have been given. We will pray fervently for our dear daughter. . . for physical healing, for a speedy recovery, for no complications, for peace without fear, for trust in mommy and daddy and the doctors, and for ultimate trust in her good, good Father!

We talk about going to Boston quite often, and Presley understands that her broken heart will get fixed. She is excited about that prospect, although I'm pretty sure she has no idea what exactly is in store. We will continue to protect her innocence as best as we can and talk her through each step of this journey. Although mommy and daddy will be with her, it will be hard to be separated from her people. I can hardly think about being away from the rest of my children for so long. They are all so supportive and excited for their little sister to have her heart mended.

Presley has already packed her special backpack with trinkets and favorites that remind her of home - including her puppy, little ponies, a thermometer (because, well, you may need your own when you're in a hospital), her watch, a brush, nail polish, and her sunglasses (oh, yes, she is quite the fashionista!). We will bring her special blanket, cute nightgowns, fun socks, pictures of family, drawings made by her girls, and signs to decorate her room. We hope the reminders of home will aid her in her fight to get back there as soon as possible.

We love our smiley, spunky, spicy, sassy, sweet little Presley more than words can say. And we cling to the fact that God loves her even more than we do, and He's got this! Thy will be done!!!

from everlasting to everlasting you are God."
