Post Op Day 10

Today was a very mellow, quiet day . . . the biggest moment was when Presley got her feeding tube removed! It is so wonderful to see her tube free, happy little face!

We had no other appointments or procedures scheduled today, so the plan was to take a couple of walks and just hang out in our room. Presley walked all the way out of our unit to the elevator. She was looking forward to pushing the buttons!

We brought along her car (we don't go anywhere without it!), and we walked around the lobby and looked at the fish again and at pictures on the walls. We were pretty much just enjoying the freedom to walk around and see new things.

Presley said she was hungry, so we went to Au Bon Pain, our favorite place to eat in the hospital. They have yummy soups and sandwiches, baked goods, and of course coffee! It was a place that brought us a bit of comfort during the trials of this journey. It was a beautiful moment to sit there and share a meal with our precious baby girl! She chose chicken noodle soup and a fruit cup.

We went back to our room, and someone from Child Life Services brought in some crafts. Presley had fun with that, and then it was nap time!

When she woke up, we decided to take one more walk. She wanted pizza, and it was nice to stretch our legs once again. She decided to push her car with her animals on the way back this time.

Tomorrow we have a final chest x-ray scheduled, and on Monday is her final echo. We are waiting to see if they want to put a scope down her throat to look at her vocal chords. Since she is improving more and more with eating, and the volume in her voice is almost back to normal, we hope she doesn't have to go through that. But we will do whatever it takes to get us home! Everything is pointing towards getting discharged by the afternoon on Monday, July 3rd! David and I are hoping this will in fact happen and be a great anniversary present! We have changed our plane tickets to Tuesday morning, and we are praying that it all works out! God is in control! It is truly a miracle to see our sweet girl healing and gaining strength each and every day!
