We are finally settled in our hotel after a long travel day - it's 10:00 pm! We put Linda down to sleep after a bath and Mia is going to bed now too. I'm exhausted but I wanted to give a brief update and let you know how the day went.
Well, the morning was very mellow. After a good breakfast we spent the morning in the hotel room just packing, playing and watching some videos. She sure loves her big sister, Mia!
Our guide, Faye, picked us up at 1:00 and we headed to the airport.
It was pouring rain, and the airport was about 45 minutes away. We got checked in pretty easily at the ticket counter and went through security without any problems or real delay. However, when we got to our gate we saw that our plane was delayed due to the major rain storm. There was no information on how long the delay would be either. Finally, about an hour later, it listed our new departure time, which was 2 hours later than the original time. So by the time we finally got in the air, we had waited at the airport for 4 hours!
Mia and Linda did great despite the frustrating circumstances. Linda is very resilient and pretty much goes with the flow. She did great on her first flight. She had a long day and actually fell asleep for a little bit on the van ride to our hotel. We meet our guide in the lobby at 10:00 tomorrow morning for Linda's medical appointment.
We are past the half way point and can't wait to be back home!! Linda is feeling more comfortable with us each day and is repeating even more English words. She is a lot of fun and we love her so much already!!
