In exactly one week we will be on a plane to China! We have prayed, planned, and prepared for this for so long. We are full of joy and excitement as we ponder the moment that we will see this sweet face in person!
"Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God - children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God."
John 1:12-13
Yet as we tend to focus on how we feel at this moment and how we have felt for the past year as we have pursued our girl, she may not have ever given us a thought. We have been told that she is happy she is being adopted and to be getting a mommy and daddy. However, does she even understand what that means? My heart hurts as I think about how scared she may be when she is whisked away from everything familiar. She will walk into a new life forever! We know that it will be so good, but she has no idea what it will be like. She will need to learn that we love her and that we will take good care of her. She will need to know us and our love for her so that she can learn to trust us. I am so reminded of how our heavenly Father is with us. We must know Him and His great love for us in order to trust Him! And when we truly begin to comprehend this amazing, undeserved, redeeming love, we become confident that we can trust our good Father. He is the One who has pursued us; He has called us to Himself, and He calls us His children! What greater joy is there than that?!
John 1:12-13
Oh, sweet Presley, may you know our love for you! Precious daughter, may you learn to trust us in the days to come. Most importantly, may our heavenly Father use us to teach you about His great love for you! May you believe in Him and place your trust in our mighty God who has the power to save!
“It is important to realize we adopt not because we are rescuers. No. We adopt because we are rescued.” — David Platt
"May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit." Romans 15:13
